IKEA can get some hate, especially with my peers who take a different approach to building furniture. Believe it or not, there are some reasons why a custom bespoke furniture company like ours actually loves IKEA. I even purchased a desk from them during the pandemic lockdown. I gave it to my son when we moved into our current home.
Here are ten things I appreciate about the IKEA furniture brand and company:
Affordability: IKEA offers furniture at a relatively low price point, making it accessible to a wide range of customers.
Convenience: IKEA's ready-to-assemble furniture is designed to be easily transported and assembled, which can be convenient for customers who value simplicity.
Versatility: IKEA offers a diverse range of furniture styles and designs, allowing customers to find pieces that suit their preferences and fit various interior aesthetics.
Innovative design: IKEA is known for its innovative approach to design, incorporating functionality, space-saving solutions, and modern aesthetics into their products.
Sustainability efforts: IKEA has made commitments to sustainability, focusing on renewable materials, energy efficiency, and reducing waste. This eco-friendly approach may resonate with customers who value sustainability.
Wide product range: IKEA offers furniture for various spaces in the home, including living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, and more. The extensive product range allows customers to furnish their entire home with IKEA pieces if desired.
Accessibility: IKEA has a global presence, with stores in many countries, making their furniture easily accessible to a large customer base.
Collaboration opportunities: As a bespoke furniture builder, I find inspiration in knowing that IKEA's collaborates with renowned designers and artists, which often result in unique and limited-edition collections.
Online resources: IKEA provides online tools and resources, such as virtual room planners and inspiration galleries, which can assist customers in visualizing and planning their furniture layouts.
Customer support: IKEA offers customer support services, including warranties and replacement parts, which can be beneficial for customers who may encounter issues or need assistance with their furniture.
While IKEA's mass-produced furniture certainly differs from the customized nature of bespoke furniture we provide, we still appreciate that these aspects of the brand are still relevant to our own work.
IKEA is not for everyone just like YourStory Home Design is not for everyone. That is more than just fine with us. We know who we are and who we serve.
We don’t want to be the furniture manufacturer to the world—We want to be your furniture maker.
